BIOGRAPHY OF OLUFUNMILAYO KHAFASAT FASHINA
23rd FEBRUARY 1964 – 18TH MARCH 2012
Born to the family of Olayinka and Alatishe on the 23rd of February 1964., Funmi was the second to the last of her fathers children. She attended Corona Primary School Ikoyi up to 1975 for her primary education, Government College Agege and Mary wood Grammar School Ebute Metta up to 1980, for her secondary education and Methodist Girls High School Yaba for her higher secondary education in 1982.She studied Business Administration in the University of Lagos and qualified in 1985. She started her professional Accounting career with the firm of Arthur Young Osindero Oni and Lasebikan a firm of chartered Accountants where she met her husband Jibade Fashina in 1991. She qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1991
In 1992 she got married to her beloved first in Dec 18 1992and also April 3, 1993.They are blessed with three boys Oluwadamilola, Boluwatife and Toluwalase aged 18, 15 and 13 respectively
In her career, She left Arthur Young after qualifying as an Accountant in 1992 and worked with Capital Consortium as the pioneer Group Financial Controller /Treasurer up to 1997and then as the Head Finance and Operations Security Swaps from1997 -2002. She also worked briefly with the Telecommunication company Telipoint, in the AndCristie Group . She was the Head of Finance & HR of ACNielsen International Research Company from 2003 up to 2007. From September 2007 to December 2011 she worked with Accenture as the Head Client Financial Management. Funmi was a member of the Institute of Taxation and a Fellow of ICAN till she passed on in March 2012.
She will be terribly missed by her husband, Jibade Taofeek, her companion till death of 21 years, and her loving children Oluwadamilola Abdul-Jeleel, Boluwatife Abdul Tawab and Toluwalase Abdul-Rauf. To the family, Funmi was a very caring person who loved herhusband and children dearly. She is very helpful to everybody around her.
